About Katie
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember — it’s where I feel calm, connected, and truly myself. No matter where life has taken me, I’ve always found my way back to the easel, and I’m so grateful for that.
Growing up in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, I was surrounded by the wild beauty of our native landscape. The untamed colours, textured forms, and honesty of our flora inspire much of my work and continue to shape my creative voice today.
I paint mostly in acrylics, drawn to the freedom and speed they allow. Over the years, I’ve explored the use of negative space to bring balance and contrast to my work, and it’s a technique I’m still learning from with every piece. My favourite subjects are Australian native flowers, though I also love the challenge of painting en plein air — capturing the movement and uniqueness of our vast, ever-changing landscapes.
Through Katie’s Studio, my goal is to create more than just art. I want to share pieces that connect — with nature, with emotion, and with people who value the handmade. Each original artwork is created with care and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, making it a truly one-of-a-kind addition to your home.
I’m deeply grateful to my parents, whose encouragement and inspiring messages from their travels remind me daily that art is an enduring part of who I am. Their belief in me continues to propel me forward.
